A Nonprofit Built for Fiber Arts.
I’ve been doing needlework since I was a child. I later received formal training at the Royal School of Needlework, earning my Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery, and I’m now continuing my fiber arts journey as a trainee at the College for Master Kilt Tailors. Standing in my studio one day, surrounded by out-of-print books and a lifetime of accumulated tools and knowledge, I realized none of it would mean anything to whoever found it next — unless I did something about it.— Terri Michele King, Founder
We’re building four things: a lending library of rare, out-of-print, and multilingual fiber arts books — seeded with Terri’s own collection and growing rapidly through generous donations; a working studio offering commissions and custom work; formal education programs; and curated exhibitions. The studio is open now. The library opens in October 2026. Education and exhibitions follow in 2027.
Fiber Arts Houston is a Texas nonprofit pursuing 501(c)(3) federal recognition.
