Fiber arts as fine art.
Fiber Arts Houston will curate and present exhibitions in gallery venues across Houston, showcasing fiber arts as a serious fine art medium — not a craft footnote. Shows will feature both established and emerging fiber artists, drawing from Houston's own community as well as national and international makers.
The goal is simple: put fiber arts in rooms where it's rarely been seen, and give it the same critical attention as any other fine art discipline.
Three things will define our exhibitions program:
Curated, not just displayed. Every show has a point of view — a theme, a technique, or a body of work worth building an exhibition around.
Houston-rooted, nationally connected. We'll champion Houston's own fiber artists while bringing in curated shows and outside work that wouldn't otherwise reach this city.
Open to the field. Both invited and juried opportunities, so working artists at different career stages have a path to exhibit.

Themed shows bringing together multiple artists and techniques around a single curatorial idea.
Solo Artist Shows
Dedicated exhibitions spotlighting the depth of a single fiber artist's body of work.
Community Juried Shows
Open-call exhibitions judged by a jury, giving emerging and local artists a path to show alongside established names.
